This was great. I loved the idea, and the clever way it quickly becomes obvious to us that these aren't really just dreams at all, even while the viewpoint character remains convinced they are. The way John reacts to what's happening is very convincing. And the angst... a perfect mixture of grief and hope. I think I shall adopt this as headcanon for what happens after Reichenbach!
