Pottersnore: Register your lack of interest

How much server capacity does it take to accept an email address? On message boards and blogs all over the world, all I've seen today is people complaining that they're getting error messages or simply not getting a response when trying to register for Pottermore notifications. I've actually gotten as far as the registration form a few times, but it doesn't matter because after clicking on submit, it takes so long to send the response that it times out anyway.

I know I should just wait and do it next week, or next month, but it bugs me that this site is finally opened after weeks of hoopla (and probably big bucks going into the development), and even though they only have one single page open, it doesn't work. What do they think is going to happen when they open up the whole thing and have even more people trying to crawl over the entire site? Rowling has enough money she could buy an entire city's worth of servers to carry the traffic. So why can't they get one simple page working?

Thanks for the warning. I have enough crap with my Vista (the computing equivalent of a non-housetrained labrador) without going to look for extra trouble.

It looks kind of interesting, but I feel no compelling desire to register and check it out until they've had time to work the kinks out. I'm sure new revelations about the canon universe will spread to other fansites quickly enough.

Can't wait for the wank to start, though. :o
