WTF subscribing to one-shots?

Why do people on ff.net insist on subscribing to story alerts for  one-shots? O_o

There's like... no chance that any of my one-shots will ever be expanded into chaptered fics. I can tell you that up-front.

I just have to shake my head every time I get a notice that someone's added a story alert to a one-shot of mine... especially ones that were posted years ago. Use the favorite button instead, people!
