1000 Fan Fiction Bookmarks (Again)
Jul. 15th, 2016 02:22 pmI just hit 1000 bookmarks with my collections on AO3. I had 1000 at an earlier point, but due to many fics having been deleted I dropped below. Now with some corkers having finished, we're back in quadruple digits.
The full database of bookmarks (i.e. fic recs) is here: http://archiveofourown.org/users/SwissMiss/bookmarks
You can filter/sort to your heart's content with the menu on the right side of the page.
I have also sorted these bookmarks into my own themed collections, which you can find here: http://archiveofourown.org/users/SwissMiss/collections
If you open an individual collection, be sure to then click on 'Bookmarks' in the left-hand menu bar to see everything. Otherwise it will only show you the 5 most recent.
Have fun!

1,000 Bookmarks on AO3
Feb. 22nd, 2015 09:32 pmThanks to everyone who chimed in on my request for a new Johnlock fic, I know it was a hard one! Luckily 2 of the WIPs I've been following were completed overnight, and this is the first one I read, making it my 1000th bookmark on AO3:
Eyes Up, Heels Down (107845 words) by CodenameMeretricious
Chapters: 43/43
Fandom: Sherlock (TV)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Characters: Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Mrs. Hudson, Irene Adler, Jim Moriarty, Charles Augustus Magnussen, Molly Hooper, Greg Lestrade
Additional Tags: Equestrian!lock, Fluff, Angst, Humor, Sherlock rides horses, John grooms them, equestrian AU, Horses, sports AU, show jumping, Alternative Universe - Equestrian, AU
Summary: Sherlock is a top eventing rider currently training at Baker Farms. John is the new groom who's been told to steer clear of the surly rider and his horses.
My rec: This is a complete AU in which Sherlock is a world-class equestrian and John is his new groom. Exciting and hot, with all the ups and downs of competition, clashing tempers, and muscled beasts getting rubdowns. Oh, and horses. There are horses too.
Even if you're not into sports AUs or horses, do give this a try for the complex chemistry between John and Sherlock as well as the fun of all the recasting of the canon characters and their roles.
(P.S. You can read more about my AO3 bookmark collections and how they might be useful to you here.)

900 Bookmarks on AO3
Sep. 9th, 2014 11:29 amI've just added the 900th bookmark to my collections on AO3. The fic that had the honor is a fairly classic one that I somehow only just got around to reading now, but is so, so good:
( Infiltrate by SkipandDi (ladyflowdi and MirrorSkippy) )
Here's a bit more explanation for my bookmark collections if you're interested.

800 Sherlock Holmes bookmarks
Feb. 27th, 2014 09:06 amI just added my 800th bookmark to my AO3 account! If you have no idea what I am talking about, I wrote up an introduction to my bookmark collections a while back, which you can find here. I do periodically add new collections and re-organize existing ones as needed, so if it's been a while since you've had a look it might be worth checking them out again.
Here are all of the collections.
Nearly all are for the BBC version of Sherlock, with a sizable ACD Sherlock Holmes minority and a few Ritchieverse and others. The vast majority are Sherlock/John (or Holmes/Watson) but there are quite a few genfics as well, and a very few het and other slash pairings.
If you'd prefer to just see the bookmarks themselves, here are all of my AO3 bookmarks, unsorted. Make use of the sorting features in the right sidebar to find fics by pairing, rating, or crossover fandom, or search for any tags you want. For example, Christmas, humor, vampires, or case fic. Make sure to tick on the 'Recs only' box for the ones I particularly liked.
And a big thank you to all of the fabulously talented authors who share their love for all the incarnations of Sherlock Holmes with us!

700 Sherlock Holmes Bookmarks
Oct. 17th, 2013 11:08 amAs of yesterday, I now have 700 bookmarks on AO3, all but one, as far as I recall, for fan fiction based on various versions of Sherlock Holmes. I don't even want to guess how many millions of words they encompass, but that certainly represents a good chunk of my life over the past two years.
The 700th bookmark was for a great fic, too, so I'll link it here:( The Madness of Angels by ayalesca )
*This fic has been deleted, but you can still find it (at the moment) here: HTML / PDF
The bookmarks are all sorted into collections, which you can read more about here if you're interested.

Organizing Your Bookmarks on AO3
Jun. 14th, 2013 03:08 pmSomeone asked me how to organize bookmarks into collections on AO3 the way I did, so here you go:
( Creating bookmark collections on AO3... )
If you create any bookmark collections of Sherlock fics, feel free to let me know about it. I can always use more great fics!

A few people have told me now how useful they've found my collections of bookmarks of Sherlock Holmes fics on AO3. So for those who don't know about them, here is an introduction. (If you want to know how to make your own collections, I've written up a how-to post HERE.)
