Someone asked me how to organize bookmarks into collections on AO3 the way I did, so here you go:

How to create a new collection:

- Make sure you are logged on in AO3 and go to your Dashboard.

- Click on Collections on the left sidebar. Then select New Collection.

- Collection Name will end up being the URL, so you can only use letters, numbers, and underscores. For example, Sherlock_BBC_Without_Reichenbach

- The Display Title is the actual name of the collection that will display, so you want to use regular upper and lowercases and spaces. You can also use other punctuation. For example: Sherlock (BBC) - Without Reichenbach.

(- You don't need to make the Collection Name and the Display Title match at all. You could make the Collection Name be collection_x and the Display Title be All the Best Fruit Bat Stories.)

- That's all you need in the top section. You can add a description if you want. The email and other stuff is for collections based on challenges.

- In Preferences, I always choose Moderated and Closed because I imagine that makes it no one else can add things. Although I have never experimented to see if it makes a difference one way or the other.

- You don't need anything in the Profile section. Again, that's for collections based on challenges.

- And Submit (scroll all the way down to the bottom to find it). It may take a while for the new collection to show up in your Collections.

How to add bookmarks to your collections

- Now the trickiest part for me was figuring out how to add bookmarks to the collections. It turns out it's quite easy. Go to your Bookmarks (again, in the sidebar on your Dashboard) and click on Edit for whichever bookmark you want to add to your new collection. Note that the Add to Collection link will not work for this. No idea why.

[Edit: [livejournal.com profile] tripleransom explains:
NB: The 'add to collections' button does work, but you have to use "the one word name and not the title". Turns out that's the URL one.

Edit 2: Make sure the 'private bookmark' option is unchecked, otherwise the bookmarks can't be added to collections.]

- On the Edit Bookmark page, go to Add to Collection and copy-paste the Collection Name (the one with the underscores), in our example that would be Sherlock_BBC_Without_Reichenbach. Then hit TAB. Don't wait for the system to find your collection name, because it won't. (Again, no idea why.) After you hit TAB, the name of your collection should register with a red X next to it. So you can also remove your bookmark from that collection if you change your mind or re-arrange things later. You can also add the bookmark to multiple collections. Just hit TAB after copy-pasting each one.

- Finally, click Update. You are done.

- Rinse and repeat with all of your bookmarks.

(Note: It may take a while for the collection name to show up on your bookmark after you enter Update. Like, several days. But if you go to the collection itself, the bookmark will be there.)

If you create any bookmark collections of Sherlock fics, feel free to let me know about it. I can always use more great fics!
