Thoughts: I was a bit surprised that there weren't more higher-rated fics. The fest allowed everything up to NC-17, but 85% of the fics were rated PG-13 or less. The rest were rated R, and one of those only for language. I'm going to guess that for Lily/James shippers, the interest is more in how they overcome their initial animosity and get together, or about their life as a family with little Harry, than about strap-ons and bloodplay.
The word count distribution is typical of similar fests (see earlier posts for comparisons). The mode (most frequent word count) is the lowest allowed by the rules, namely 1-2K words. Most of the fics, 75%, are under 6,000 words. There are a few that are slightly longer, and then that one author whose muse went into overdrive and got all the way up to 37,000 words in the 2-month writing period. (And I mean that will all due praise and admiration.)
I didn't read any of the fics for this fest, but I did take a quick look at the art, and I was really blown away by two of them, namely "Would you have a light, madame?" by
