Some thoughts: For what I would consider a second-tier (i.e. not exactly rare, but not hugely popular either) Next Gen pairing, there was a great turnout for this fest.

The ratings were kind of interesting, with nearly an equal number of PG-13 and NC-17 rated fics, and hardly anything else.

The word counts were pretty typical, with the lion's share of the fics (two-thirds) under 6,000 words, and the largest bunch in the lowest allowed range, with the rest spread out thinly up to the top end. There was no single, very long fic, however.

More stats! :) Interesting to note that more than half were PG-13 or under. Is that something you typically have noticed more in the next-gen fics?

Hi, thanks for commenting! The only thing I've really noticed about Next Gen is that there doesn't seem to be much of it outside of specifically Next Gen fests/comms. This fest was unusual for the low number of R-rated fics. It was like they either stopped at first second base, or they went graphically all the way, but nothing in between.
