Author's Notes: This was written for the People Do Surprise Us drabble challenge on [livejournal.com profile] nosmutforyou .

“I don’t care what you look like, you know.” Greyback pulled Narcissa’s long, blond hair back and pressed his nose against her skin, inhaling deeply. “Pretty won’t get you anywhere. No favour from me at any rate.”

Narcissa stiffened her body and turned her head away. It was all she could do not to gag from the smell of him.

“A wizard’s bitch. Putting on airs. Think you’re better than us.” Greyback snarled in the back of his throat and started licking her neck.

Narcissa closed her eyes and thought of Draco. Snape couldn’t help him anymore. Only Greyback could.

How icky, yet plausible.

Wow -- chilling, and so in character for both of them. Everything that needs to be said is said; you describe the situation so vividly in just a few words. Awesome!

Oh, it was surprising -- but in a very in character way. :-)

I thought that Narcissa would never cheat on Lucius
May I ask, quite seriously, whether you have any canon authority for this? Because I've written a couple of fics where the exact opposite is the case. I would like to know whether I've strayed from canon.

Ah. The thing is, I tend to associate that high-handed aristocratic type with "open marriages". But as you say, canon can be read in many ways.

Very disturbing . . . yet, I agree that Cissy has that kind of strength when her mummy instinct is in charge.

Very repellent and shocking but in character. You say only what's needed which is great because I think that adds to the repellent feeling of the piece. Actually knowing Greyback it's frightening in many ways. Nicely done for the challenge and for Nosmutforyou.

I like work where every word counts. This is quite good - although the idea is not the most original I have ever seen. But then, I know at least one person, possibly two, whom I suspect of having done this in real life. (Just suspect. Hey, I'm not going to ask a friend whether she prostituted herself, am I now?)

This is incredibly chilling for 100 words. I'd never want to read anything explicit about this. It's enough as is. I think Narcissa is one of the most fascinating characters in HP And I agree with you that Narcissa wouldn't "cheat" on her husband but she is a strong woman who is desperate in the HBP timeframe.

Came here for the [livejournal.com profile] hp_darkfest and ended up browsing through a few fics. Glad I clicked on this one!

I've actually only seen this pairing done one other time, and it really intrigues me. Incredibly chilling and disturbing, in a way, for 100 words, and I loved it. I agree with some of the comments you left - in my head, Narcissa would only cheat to save her son.
