It's been a long time in coming, but the Harry/Draco Glompfest has finally come to a close with the posting of its master list. Enjoy some statistics under the cut.

There were 61 fics and 8 artworks created for this fest. One gift contained a fic and two artworks, which I counted separately. That is why I ended up with a different total than the fest mods. :)

Some thoughts: Harry/Draco always brings out the love. I don't think it would be possible to hold a Harry/Draco fest of any kind and not have a great turnout. It's just that popular. Simply the fact that multiple authors/artists created more than one gift for this fest shows how invested this fandom is in this pairing. It's like we just can't get enough.

The ratings covered the full range, although there was a clear bias toward the higher ratings, with 73% of the fics rated at least R, and 62% of the overall gifts rated at least R (as usual, the art was generally rated lower than the fics). I find it interesting that so many authors found it necessary to nuance the R rating into three separate degrees. No one ever rates a fic as 'soft PG' or 'hard PG-13'. (Well, that I can recall, anyway). There is actually an official '15' rating between PG-13 and R in the U.K. and other countries, but Americans may not be familiar with it, and thus resort to 'soft R'.

The word counts were actually a bit on the low side in my opinion, given both the popularity of this pairing (which usually leads to several long fics), as well as the fact that late-posting authors had over three months to write. There was a pretty clear delineation at 9,000 words, with a very sudden drop-off and 80% of the fics below that mark. A goodly number managed to write up to 17,000 words, but only one author went beyond that. I didn't correlate fic length with posting date, but a logical expectation would be that the longer fics were generally posted later in the fest. However, the longest fic was the second one posted, only 5 weeks after the prompts were posted. So there goes that theory.
