Title: The Baker Street Nativity Advent Calendar (2/24)
Author: swissmarg
Prompter: Self, although this also partially covers [livejournal.com profile] rifleman_s's prompt of Sherlock deducing a movie from its title
Rating: G
Word count: Every installment has 221 words (on my computer)
Characters: Sherlock/John, Gladstone
Timeline: Sometime after chapter 23
Disclaimer: This is a transformative work inspired by the BBC television series Sherlock, created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, and the 2009 movie Nativity! from Mirrorball Films.
Summary: This is a series of 221b drabbles set in and around The Baker Street Nativity and will make very little sense without having read that first. These drabbles may also contain spoilers for the main story. They are not posted in any particular order, and will jump around in time. I will try to give you some idea of where each drabble fits within (or before or after) the main story in the 'Timeline' field in the header. This series has not been beta read.

Two: Watching a DVD Together

"Budge over, you two." John poked at Gladstone until he groaned and got up.

"This couch wasn't made for three," Sherlock grumbled, but pulled his legs in to make room for John in the middle.

Once John sat down, Gladstone circled a couple times in the remaining space, then flopped down with his head hanging off the cushions.

"Here." John handed Sherlock the cover of the DVD he'd just put into the player.

Sherlock glanced at it, then tossed it onto the coffee table.

"Don't you want to read the blurb on the back?"

"I already know the story."

"I thought you hadn't seen this before?"

"I haven't, but look at the picture." Sherlock gestured at the DVD case. "American military court, hero, villain, token non-objectified female, and there-" He leaned forward to flip it over. "Scapegoats. The hero has something to prove, but he's inexperienced and always relies on the same tricks. It looks like the villain's going to get away with it, until the hero decides to take a gamble, likely at the urging of the woman, causing the villain to choke on his own hubris. The scapegoats take the fall anyway."

John laughed. "Why did you even agree to watch this then?"

"I have my reasons," Sherlock said with a grin and slid a hand under John's bum.

Ho much do I love that Sherlock isn't quite ready to share the couch with both John and Gladstone and for just a second, Gladstone may have won? :)

*dies laughing* You know, this is perfect timing!!!!

"I have my reasons," Sherlock said with a grin and slid a hand under John's bum.
Of course, it was Benedict and Martin, not John and Sherlock but Benedict's bum pinching at the premiere seems like RL imitating art now... :D

Loved this! Thank you.

No, I couldn't see it but Martin at least said that Benedict pinched his bum (but we all know that Martin wouldn't mind bending the truth a little... :D).

YES!! :)

""I have my reasons," Sherlock said with a grin and slid a hand under John's bum."

Ha! Deep, dark and mysterious as usual, no doubt to be followed by some well thought-out fun!
